How big do potbellied pigs get?

Potbellied Pigs get as big as you let them get - so be careful!  While I believe most healthy, well-cared-for pots average in around 125, it's easy to overfeed these guys and get them up to harmful weights of 200 and even 300 pounds.  My pig is 9 years old and has maintained the weight of 98 pounds for the last 4 years.  Granted, he's a little guy - the top of his head is below my knee, and I'm only 5'3".  Pots have short legs, and arthritis is common, so you don't want to add any extra strain to them by having them carry extra weight - despite how much they insist they are starving.  Sure, it's fun to feed your pig - but it's also fun to watch them be healthy and able to move around easily. - Kim

Pretty much right on, Kim.  Full grown healthy potbellied pigs can weigh as little as 60 to 70 pounds, but these are rare.  Most end up weighing 100 to 150 pounds depending on their structural size, and any potbellied pig can end up weighing far more than that if they are over fed or improperly fed.  A measured 1/2 cup of potbellied pig feed AM and PM and some vegetables make a suitable diet. - editor

do not look at anything with their own eyes but through other people's eyeglasses."
