What is the oldest documented age of a potbellied pig?
I
suspect the most common answer to that will be George Clooney's Max who
is pretty well documented to have been about 18 1/2 years old when he
died. Some may disagree with that number and some of you may know of
older potbellies. Realize that they've only been in this country for
about 20 years, so don't try and tell us you have a 30 year old. -

I read your notation about the oldest documentd pig at just over 18 years. I had my piggy die last week. She was one of the original pigs from Keith Leavitt (my brother) and she was 17 years old when she died, although I do not know her exact date of birth. I know she was born in 1990 and was a year in the spring of 1991 when I got her. I know everyone who has lost a piggy pet will know that they are special and I miss her. She had a good life and slowed down only over the last year, finally needing special food which I cooked of oatmeal and fruits and vegetables. She was never given meat but always a good variety of fresh vegetables, fruit, pig chow, rabbit chow. - Roberta (Leavitt) Frizell (7/23/07)
